Veteran  Auxiliary Diagnosed with cancer

The Inkster Police Auxiliaries are hosting a fund raiser for Aux Police Lieutenant and 22nd District Court Community Service Supervisor Eddie Griffin.

 

When: Oct 10 2008 from 6pm to 1am

Eddie was recently diagnosed with cancer. The medical determination is that it is stage four. "Eddie"  as he is so affectionately called has volunteered almost 20 yrs with the Inkster Auxiliary Police and he currently serves as the 22nd District Court Community Service Supervisor. Eddie is married with children.

Eddie needs our assistance with the mounting medical cost as he has no medical benefits.

The Inkster Police Department in conjunction with the Inkster Police Auxiliary Department and the 22nd District Court staff are organizing a benefit found raiser to assist Eddie with his cost.

 

Ticket are $20

Raffle, Food, Music and Door Prizes.

Tuesday Training classes Time changes

The Auxiliary Training meetings that were held on Tuesdays have now been officially changed by Aux Chief of Police W. Ratliff. The new time for the start of training classes are to be 1900 and will be held EVERY first and third Tuesday of the month. This will take effect immediately.  The third Tuesday will be uniform inspection.

Lt. O'Bryan, under the supervision of the Chief and Deputy Chief, has came up with a new Residential and Business Watch Program being executed by the Auxiliaries. For more information call

Chiefs Message

As the Inkster Police Chief I view community education as an integral part of the services that we provide to our citizens. Some of the programs include Senior Citizens Safety, Identity Theft, Frauds & Scams, 911 Education, Crime Prevention and Operation Identification.

Also as Chief of the Inkster Police Department, one of my many responsibilities is the oversight of the Auxiliary Police Division.  One of the goals of the Auxiliary is to enhance the safety of the citizens of this community.  The Auxiliary Division provides a wide variety of support to the Inkster Police Department.

Inkster Police Lt. Barry O'Bryan

 Auxiliary Crime Prevention Coordinator

Lt. O'Bryan, a longtime veteran and experienced Command Officer of the Inkster Police Department, was appointed the Inkster Auxiliary Crime Prevention Coordinator by Chief Gregory Gaskin.  Lt. O'Bryan's' dedication to law enforcement is exemplified with his extensive training and certifications.

 Lt. O'Bryan graduated with his Associates Degree from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks campus.  He is a Graduate of the 16th class of Police School of Staff and Command at Eastern Michigan University.  Lt. O'Bryan has multiple certifications from the Michigan State Police, including DARE school, hostage negotiations, arson investigations, and motor carrier enforcement.  He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the International Association of Arson Investigators, the I.A.A.I. Michigan Chapter, the International Association of Hostage Negotiators, the International Association of Special Investigation Units, and the National Association of Reserve Police Officers.
